Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad celebrated National Doctor’s Day on 1st July 2026 with the theme “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?” to honour the selfless service of doctors and inspire future healers.
Programme Highlights:
- 1. Morning Assembly Speech: The day began with Aniha delivering a thoughtful speech during the morning assembly on the significance of Doctor’s Day and the invaluable role of doctors in society. She reminded everyone that “The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease.” – William Osler
- 2. Special Programme: A special programme was conducted in the school auditorium with Dr. Sruthy Vinesh, BAMS, Chief Physician, Harikanyaka Ayurkendra, Ariyannur as the Chief Guest.
- 3. Welcome Address: Head Girl, Adhilakshmi formally welcomed the gathering and emphasized that doctors are true warriors in white coat.
- 4. Chief Guest’s Address: Dr. Sruthy Vinesh captivated the audience with her address on importance of health, civic sense, and personal hygiene. She narrated the inspiring life of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, highlighting how “To serve humanity is to serve God.” She urged students to respect doctors and adopt preventive healthcare.
- 5. Voices of Future Doctors: The most touching segment was when our aspiring doctors shared their dreams. Anusree and Gayathri K R from Class 10, and Anusree from Class 12, spoke with conviction about their passion to heal and serve. Their words echoed the quote: “Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity.” – Hippocrates
- 6. Vote of Thanks: Head Boy, Ahas Krishna proposed the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sruthy for her time and wisdom, and to all who made the day meaningful
The celebration was a fitting tribute to doctors and left students inspired to value health and service. As the saying goes, “Not all heroes wear capes, some wear stethoscopes.”
