Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad celebrated National Doctor’s Day on 1st July 2026 with the theme “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?” to honour the selfless service of doctors and inspire future healers.
Programme Highlights:

When the world encounters grave environmental challenges like climate change, global warming , ozone layer depletion, melting of glaciers etc., the relevance of Movements,awareness and strong actions become relevant keywords.
Fondly remembering the warriors who stood for the preservation of environment, a special assembly was organized for 1st and 2nd graders on the World Environment Day, on 5th June. 3rd and 5th graders planted saplings and flowering plants in the school garden. They took the oath for sustainability and displayed placards/ posters highlighting their actions to protect the environment to lead a healthy life. The programme gave a deep insight to the children to realise the need to protect their environment for future generations.

"When a child is born, it bears within it the message that God is not disappointed of man."
World Day against Child Labour was observed on 12th June, which was a real eye opener to what is going on around us. When the Highest judiciary has set laws to punish child labourers ,in its shadow many criminals are growing by crushing the dreams and future of children with child trafficking and other crimes concerned with kids.
The topic was highlighted by teachers to our students and they engaged in the collage competition where they expressed their ideas creatively.

Sri Sajid K P, Excise Preventive Officer ,Excise Range Office, Manjeri was the guest speaker.He conveyed the hazards of negative influences in life , the importance of saying a big NO to such temptations and the punishments of using and carrying drugs. The session was highly beneficial and informative to the students. They made creative posters highlighting the social sin and displayed.
Amrita Vidyalayam, Manjeri organised a community outreach programme ,as a part of observing the Day against drug abuse .With the support of the Department of Police, Manjeri, our students performed a street play and distributed notices highlighting the threat of drugs and the need to drive away such crimes, in Manjeri bus stands.The programme was successful and appreciated by the public.

What they see they may forget, what they do they will believe... when the advancement of technology and modern lifestyle paved way for video games it is the need of the hour to take kids to traditional games, way of living ,so on and so forth.
Through playing on sand, they really reached past childhood games where they made sand dishes, castle, homes,,roads etc.Kids wrote letters and numbers on sand and the whole activity filled joy in them..It develops their fine motor skills as well.

"Energy can neither be created, nor destroyed, but can be transformed"... Yoga calms our mind, better identify what we are, what our purpose is, to see things as they are, physical fitness and mental balance are the key words and much more.
Amrita Vidyalayam, Manjeri organised an International Yoga Day yoga session on 20th June. Students in their white uniform did yogasanas, instructed by Ms. Harshitha. High School students prepared beautiful charts depicting yoga postures. The awareness given to kids enlightened their attitude and thoughts that yoga identifies their true potential.

Following the theme of 2026, 'Read and grow', Reading Day was observed on 19th June , paying tribute to the 'Grandfather of Letters' and the foster father of reading, Sri.P.N.Panicker, who led Malayalees into the magical world of reading. Kerala Government declared the death anniversary of Sri Panicker to be observed as the Reading Day from 1996.
The Principal, Academic co - ordinator and Ms. Jisha (HOD Malayalam Dept) shared their views on the significance of reading to the students. A role play competition for grades 3 to 5 and poster making competition for grades 6 to 8 with the theme, Read and grow were conducted.The following week was observed as Reading week with reading sessions.The activities and reading sessions ignited the urge to read in young minds

"The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upon and in the night," reminding these wise words of the famous English poet, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, the school parliament and leaders of Amrita Vidyalayam, Manjeri were duly elected after the tireless efforts of the nominees and teachers.
School parliament election was conducted on 17/06/2026 and Investiture Ceremony of the new Academic Year 2026–2027 was held on 30th June, marking the induction of newly elected leaders. Sri. M. Abdul Nazar, President of Sahodaya, Malappuram Region, blessed the event as the Chief Guest. Student leaders were sworn in to shoulder the responsibilities with true devotion, hard work, integrity and commitment, displaying excellent leadership qualities to uplift the welfare of their schoolmates and the progress of the school.

Observation of National Anti-Drug and Illicit Trafficking Day
Our school observed the National Anti-Drug and Illicit Trafficking Day with the aim of creating awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among students.
As part of the observance, an awareness class was conducted by Mr. Hariharan V.K., Sub Inspector and Additional District Nodal Officer, Social Policing Division, Kozhikode. He sensitised students to the dangers of drug abuse, the importance of making responsible choices, and the need to work together to build a drug-free society.
Students also took part in a poster-making activity, creating impactful posters that conveyed powerful anti-drug messages and promoted a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The programme concluded with an anti-drug pledge, reinforcing the commitment of students to lead healthy and responsible lives.

Amrita Vidyalayam, Kozhikode, conducted Investiture Ceremony to formally induct the newly elected student council and house office bearers. The programme was graced by Mr. Hariharan V.K., Sub Inspector and Additional District Nodal Officer, Social Policing Division, Kozhikode, as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony included the charge-taking and oath-taking of the Head Boy, Head Girl, Literature Coordinator, RT Coordinator, and the Wardens and Co-Wardens of the four houses. In his inspiring address, the Chief Guest encouraged the student leaders to carry out their responsibilities with integrity, confidence, and dedication.
The event concluded on a proud note, with the newly elected leaders pledging to uphold the values and traditions of the school while serving with commitment and excellence.
