Our school celebrated National Handloom Day to promote India’s rich handloom heritage. Students made maps of India showing different states and their unique handloom materials. Jayalakshmi P. J. (Class VI) and Anugraha Umesh (Class IX) took part in a hand embroidery activity, showcasing the fine craftsmanship of Indian textiles. Students also visited a nearby cottage industry that makes mats. They observed traditional mat-making and learned about the hard work and skill of local artisans. The celebration helped students understand India’s textile traditions and encouraged them to appreciate and preserve our cultural heritage.
