The Social Science Department of Amrita Vidyalayam, Perur, Kollam observed Hiroshima Day with great reverence and a strong message of peace. The programme was organized to commemorate the victims of the Hiroshima bombing and to create awareness among students about the devastating impact of nuclear disasters.
The programme began with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of Hiroshima Day and the importance of promoting global peace. Students delivered impactful speeches on the consequences of nuclear warfare, emphasizing the long-term effects of radiation on human life, the environment, and future generations.
As part of the observance, students actively participated in poster-making activities and displayed creative posters carrying powerful messages such as "Say No to War, Yes to Peace", "No War", and "Peace for the World." An informative presentation on the impact of nuclear disasters further helped students understand the importance of harmony, compassion, and peaceful coexistence.
The programme concluded with a collective pledge to uphold the values of peace and humanity and to work towards building a world free from violence and war.
