Amrita Vidyalayam, Mananthavady celebrated the 79th Independence Day

Amrita Vidyalayam Mananthavady celebrated the 79th Independence Day of our nation with pride and patriotism on 15th August. Students and teachers gathered with enthusiasm to honour the sacrifices of our brave freedom fighters and to celebrate the birth of a free India.

The programme began with a solemn prayer, invoking blessings for the peace and progress of the nation. Neglecting heavy rainfall the Principal, along with staff representatives, hoisted the National Flag amidst the singing of the National Anthem. 

Following this, a series of vibrant cultural programmes unfolded. Students presented patriotic songs, group dances, skits, and speeches that highlighted India’s glorious struggle for freedom and the importance of safeguarding the hard-earned liberty. The atmosphere echoed with slogans like “Vande Mataram” and “Jai Hind” that reignited national pride.

Dr Narayanankutty, a prominent social worker, child specialist inaugurated the ceremony, donated Mathrubhumi newspaper for the school. In his speech he urged the students to be socially responsible, environmentally conscious, and to contribute to the growth of the nation through education, compassion, and selfless service.  

The principal, in her inspiring address, reminded everyone that independence is not merely a celebration but a responsibility. She also quoted Amma’s message that true freedom is experienced when one rises above selfishness and works for the welfare of all.
