Our school enthusiastically celebrated International Yoga Day and World Music Day, bringing together the timeless benefits of yoga and the universal appeal of music in a memorable and enriching programme. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Prof. Dr. P. K. Madhavan, who served as the Chief Guest.
The celebration witnessed active participation from students, who demonstrated a series of yoga postures with dedication and precision. Through yoga, children developed and showcased essential life skills such as concentration, self-discipline, balance, flexibility, coordination, endurance, mindfulness, and emotional resilience. The practice also helped them understand the importance of physical fitness, mental well-being, and inner peace.
Students delivered informative speeches highlighting the significance of yoga and music in everyday life. These presentations enhanced their public speaking skills, confidence, communication abilities, critical thinking, and stage presence. Their thoughtful reflections inspired the audience to adopt healthy habits and appreciate the role of music in creating harmony and positivity.
Adding a melodious charm to the occasion, students sang beautiful songs to commemorate World Music Day. Musical performance provided opportunities for children to develop creativity, listening skills, rhythm, memory, teamwork, self-expression, and cultural appreciation. The joy of performing together fostered a sense of unity and collaboration among the participants.
A special moment of pride was the recognition of the Best Yoga Performers, who were honoured with awards for their dedication, excellence, and outstanding performance. The recognition motivated students to continue striving for personal growth and excellence.
The celebration was a perfect blend of wellness, creativity, and learning, helping students acquire valuable life skills while appreciating the profound connection between a healthy body, a focused mind, and a joyful spirit. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to practising yoga and cherishing music as pathways to lifelong well-being and happiness.
