Amrita Vidyalayam, Thalassery celebrated International Yoga Day on 21 June 2026 with great enthusiasm and participation. The programme was organized with the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”, highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
The celebration commenced with prayers and a brief introduction to the significance of International Yoga Day. The chief resource person for the programme was Yogacharya Vibith P, an experienced yoga teacher, who addressed the students and emphasized the role of yoga in leading a healthy and balanced life.
Students actively participated in various yoga demonstrations and practised different asanas, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques under the guidance of the resource person. The session helped students understand how yoga improves physical health, reduces stress, enhances concentration, and promotes inner peace.
The programme inspired everyone to adopt yoga as a part of their daily routine and reinforced this year’s message of “One Earth, One Health – Yoga for Self and Society.”
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guest, teachers, and students for making the event a grand success.
