On 20st June 2025, Amrita Vidyalayam, Karur joyfully celebrated both International Yoga Day and World Music Day, honouring two powerful paths that nurture the body, mind, and soul. The twin celebrations created an inspiring atmosphere, reminding everyone of the harmony between discipline and creativity, silence and sound.
The day began with an uplifting yoga session. Students and teachers performed asanas, pranayama, and meditation practices guided by trained instructors. The program highlighted yoga as a holistic science for inner balance, concentration, and well-being. Quoting Amma, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi, “Yoga is the key to balance the body, mind, and intellect. It helps us discover inner strength and peace.” Inspired by Amma’s words, the gathering pledged to adopt yoga as a daily practice for a healthy and harmonious life.
After Yoga Session, the campus resonated with melody and rhythm as the World Music Day celebration unfolded. Students showcased their talents through soulful vocal and instrumental performances, presenting classical, devotional, folk, and contemporary music. The audience was immersed in the joy of music that transcends barriers and unites hearts. Reflecting Amma’s teaching, “Music is an expression of love and devotion. It has the power to unite hearts and elevate the soul,” the event emphasized the spiritual dimension of music as a universal language of harmony.
The combined observance of Yoga Day and Music Day beautifully symbolized the essence of Indian culture—where silence and sound, stillness and expression, come together to create true inner joy. The celebrations at Amrita Vidyalayam Karur inspired students to embrace yoga for inner discipline and music for creative expression, thus walking the path of balance and fulfillment.
