The Karkkidaka Food Fest was celebrated at Amrita Vidyalayam, Perumbavoor with great devotion and enthusiasm. Karkkidakam, considered as a month of health, spirituality and rejuvenation in Kerala, was observed to inculcate traditional values and healthy practices among students. 

Students actively participated and learned about  indigenous herbs, monsoon diet and the spiritual significance of the month.   As part of the fest,they conducted a medicinal plant exhibition. Students brought and displayed medicinal porridge (Karkkidaka Kanji), the various ingredients used in its preparation, and a variety of traditional medicinal sweet delicacies.
