Our school observed Anti-Drug Day to create awareness among students about the growing menace of drug abuse and the importance of personal safety. The event aimed to educate students on how to protect themselves and make informed decisions.
Inaugural Session of the programme commenced with a soulful prayer song invoking the blessings of our beloved Amma. Following the prayer, the gathering was formally welcomed. The welcome address highlighted the significance of observing Anti-Drug Day in schools.
The chief guest for the day was Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Manoj Sir from the Cheranallore Police Station. In his highly informative and eye-opening address, he urged students to remain vigilant and aware of strangers. He strongly advised against interacting with unknown individuals, illustrating his points with gripping real-life incidents from his career in the police force. ASI Manoj specifically addressed the girls in the audience, encouraging them to walk with their heads held high, confident and secure. He shared the sobering reality that crime has no gender, noting that, sadly, even women are actively listed in current crime records. His words served as a powerful reminder to stay alert and report any suspicious activity immediately.
An engaging questioning session followed the interactive and concluding sessions. Students actively participated, clarifying doubts regarding personal safety, digital strangers, and legal protections. ASI Manoj patiently answered all queries with practical advice. The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest and the school authorities. Finally, the student body took a collective anti-drug pledge, committing to a substance-free life. The programme ended with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra, spreading a message of universal harmony and well-being.
