A Sand Play Activity was organized for the students on 17th June 2026 to enhance their sensory, fine motor, and creative skills. Sand play is an excellent medium for experiential learning, allowing children to explore different textures while developing early literacy and artistic abilities.
The main objectives of the activity were to:
Activities Conducted
a) Writing Letters on Sand
Students were given individual sand trays to trace letters of the alphabet using their fingers. This activity strengthened their pre-writing skills in a fun and stress-free manner.
b) Making Sand Castles
Using damp sand, the children worked together in groups to build sand castles. This activity encouraged teamwork, creativity, and imaginative play.
c) Sand Painting
Children created beautiful artworks by applying glue to paper in simple patterns and sprinkling coloured sand over them. This activity helped improve their concentration, creativity, colour recognition, and fine motor skills. The finished artworks were proudly displayed in the classroom.
The students showed great enthusiasm and active participation throughout the session. The activities enhanced their concentration, creativity, confidence, and coordination while making learning enjoyable.
The Sand Play Activity was a successful blend of learning and play. The children thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on experience while developing essential early learning skills in a joyful and engaging environment.
