Amrita Vidyalayam, Ramanathapuram, observed the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on 02 December 2025 with great awareness and commitment. The programme aimed to educate students about the growing concern of violence against women, particularly in the digital space, and to promote respect, safety, and equality in society.
The event was organized under the theme “UNiTE to End Digital Violence against Women and Girls.” The programme commenced with an invocation, followed by a warm welcome to the gathering.
The school was honoured to welcome Mr. B. K. Mathan Nagan, MCA., M.E., Vice Principal and Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications, Caussanel College of Arts and Science, Ramanathapuram, as the Chief Guest for the occasion.
In his insightful address, the Chief Guest explained various forms of digital violence, including cyberbullying, online harassment, identity theft, and the misuse of social media platforms. He emphasized the importance of cyber awareness, responsible digital behaviour, and legal knowledge in ensuring the safety and empowerment of women and girls in today’s technology- driven world.
The session was highly informative and interactive, inspiring students to become responsible digital citizens and to contribute towards creating a safer and more respectful online environment. The programme concluded successfully with positive feedback from the participants.
