The day commenced with a special assembly dedicated to the cause. Kumari Devananda V of Class 12 delivered an impactful speech highlighting the harsh realities of child labour. She emphasized that a child’s place is in the classroom, not at the workplace, and urged everyone to stand against this social evil.
As part of the awareness programme, a *collage competition was organized house-wise* on the theme “Child Labour”. Students participated with great enthusiasm and creativity, depicting the struggles of child workers and the importance of education through their artworks.
The competition was a success and helped children understand that *child labour is illegal under the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986* and that it violates a child’s fundamental *Right to Education*.
The programme ended on a thoughtful note, sensitizing students towards a child’s right to freedom, education, and a happy childhood.
