June 6th is observed as World Pest Day. A field trip was organised by the school to Jai Jawan Jai Kisan farm, owned by a farmer named Eanthatt Kunhikelappan Nair who is 85 years old. Students of Std. VII were taken for a visit to the farm. The class leaders honoured the farmer with a stole. The students asked various questions to the farmer about the use of pesticides, harvesting, watering, etc. The farmer answered all their questions happily and patiently, explaining everything. The trip was very informative and helped the students to understand the harmful effects of pesticides.
The Kindergarten reopening ceremony at Amrita Vidyalayam Koyilandy was held on June 11, marking the joyful beginning of the new academic year. The event was graced by Sumedhamrita Swamiji, who honored us as the chief guest.
