Our school celebrated Shiv Jayanti with great enthusiasm and devotion, paying tribute to the great warrior king, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The program began with a short and informative speech delivered by Adarsh Pal from Std. VII B, who spoke about the importance of Shiv Jayanti and the inspiring life of Shivaji Maharaj. His words reminded everyone of Shivaji Maharaj’s bravery, leadership, and dedication towards establishing Swaraj.

The celebration continued with a vibrant skit and dance performance presented by about 100 students from Std. IV. The students beautifully enacted important events from the life of Shivaji Maharaj such as his birth, education, the oath of Swaraj, the blessings of Goddess Bhavani Mata, the defeat of Afzal Khan, and his coronation. The program concluded with a powerful Powada sung energetically by Soham Patil from Std. VIII C, accompanied by students from Std. VII who joined the chorus, making the celebration memorable and inspiring for everyone present.

The Annual Day Celebrations of Amrita Vidyalayam took place on January 9, 2026, at 5:30 pm at the school premises. The event was a grand success, with students showcasing their talents through various performances, including music, dance, and drama.The celebrations began with the lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome speech and the presentation of the Annual Report. The Guest of Honor, Sri. Bhavin Vinod, and Chief Guest, Dr. Smitha R, praised the students' efforts and emphasized the importance of discipline and clear life goals.The prize distribution ceremony recognized the outstanding achievements of students in academics and co-curricular activities. The event concluded with enthusiastic cultural programs, leaving a lasting impact on every one.

Amrita Vidyalayam in Pathanamthitta observed International Mother Language Day with a series of meaningful activities that aimed to uphold the importance and value of the mother tongue.

Children delivered speeches on the importance of their mother tongue in shaping their identity, culture, and thoughts. They took a pledge to respect and use their mother tongue in their day-to-day life. Teachers from the Malayalam department addressed the students on the importance of preserving their mother tongue, which is Malayalam in this case, and its need to be passed on to the coming generations.

To reinforce this message, communication across the school for the day was done through Malayalam, and children got a chance to feel the joy of speaking and expressing themselves through their mother tongue. The programs were designed to enable children to comprehend the importance of mother tongue, foster a sense of respect for different languages, instill a sense of responsibility towards language preservation, and enhance communication skills through one’s mother tongue.

At the end of the day, children had become more proud and loving of their mother tongue, and this resonated with the global sentiment of International Mother Language Day.
