United Nations Day was observed in our school to create awareness about the objectives and achievements of the United Nations. As part of the celebration, a special awareness speech was delivered by a teacher through a PowerPoint presentation.

The inauguration commenced with a grand welcome for the chief guest, accompanied by the school band and a march past. Students from all houses participated in the march past with great spirit and discipline. The programme started with a prayer, followed by a welcome speech by Shivapriya. The principal, Dhanya Ma’am, delivered the presidential address, after which the chief guest inaugurated the sports meet by hoisting the flag.

The chief guest then addressed the gathering with inspiring words about sportsmanship and perseverance. The sports captain, Athyuj, along with the house captains, led the oath-taking ceremony, pledging fair play and dedication. The head girl, Devika, delivered a speech highlighting the importance of sports in shaping character and teamwork. The inauguration concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the head boy, Anantha Krishnan.

Following the official ceremony, various events and competitions took place over the two days. The students actively participated in track events such as the 100m, 200m, and 400m races, and the 4×100m relay. Field events included discus throw, shot put, javelin throw, and long jump. Team games like cricket, football, basketball, and kho-kho were conducted for both boys and girls.

All participants displayed great enthusiasm, energy, and sportsmanship throughout the meet. The combined efforts of the teachers, organizers, and students made the event a grand success, leaving everyone with cherished memories of teamwork, joy, and achievement.

Amrita Vidyalayam, Vellimadukunnu celebrated Youth Day on 12th January 2026 with great reverence and enthusiasm to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, an icon of youth, strength, and character building.

The programme was conducted during the morning assembly in the prayer hall, with students of Classes 6 to 8 as the audience. The assembly began with a solemn prayer, invoking divine blessings and setting a spiritual tone for the occasion.

This was followed by the invitation of the respected Principal Ma’am along with a student attired in the costume of Swami Vivekananda, which beautifully brought alive the spirit and message of the great visionary. The presence of the Vivekananda character inspired the students and created a meaningful atmosphere.

Next, a student delivered a speech highlighting the importance of Youth Day and the relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s teachings in today’s world. The speech emphasized values such as self-confidence, discipline, service, and dedication.

A thought for the day was then presented by another student, reflecting Swami Vivekananda’s powerful ideas and motivating the young minds to strive for excellence and moral strength.

The programme was further enriched by the address of the Principal Ma’am, who encouraged the students to follow the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and to use their youth as a force for positive change, character building, and nation-building.

The assembly concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Principal, teachers, and students for their support and active participation in making the celebration meaningful.

After the assembly, students from the four houses actively took part in decorating the notice board with quotes, pictures, and messages related to Youth Day and Swami Vivekananda, adding colour and creativity to the celebration.

World Meditation Day was observed at Amrita Vidyalayam with great serenity and active participation from students. The programme was organised with the objective of promoting mental peace, concentration, and overall well-being among children through the practice of meditation.
On this occasion, students assembled calmly and participated in a guided meditation session. They sat comfortably, closed their eyes, and followed the instructions given by the teachers. The meditation focused on deep breathing and mindfulness, helping the children relax their minds and bodies. The entire atmosphere was peaceful and disciplined, allowing students to experience inner calm and focus.
The function was graced by the presence of Principal Dhanya Ma’am, who attended the programme and motivated the students. She addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of meditation in daily life. She encouraged students to practise meditation regularly to reduce stress, improve concentration, and maintain emotional balance.
Students from all classes participated sincerely and maintained silence throughout the session. Many students felt refreshed and joyful after the meditation, making the event a meaningful experience for everyone.

As part of Road Safety Awareness Week, a Road Safety Awareness Program was conducted at Amrita Vidyalayam, Kozhikode on 12th January 2026. The session was led by Sri Shyjan P, Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector from the RTO Enforcement Kozhikode.

The program was highly informative, engaging, and well-structured. Sri Shyjan interacted actively with the students, making the session lively and impactful. Through real-life examples, demonstrations, and interactive discussions, students gained a clear understanding of traffic rules, road signs, pedestrian safety, and the importance of responsible behaviour on the road.

The demonstration sessions especially captured the students’ interest and helped reinforce key safety concepts in a practical manner. Overall, the program was a great success and created strong awareness among students about road safety and their role as responsible citizens.

The Human Rights Day program was observed with great enthusiasm at Amrita Vidyalayam Kozhikode on December 10th during the morning school assembly. The event began with a thoughtful address by the Principal Ma’am, who highlighted the importance of protecting and promoting human rights in everyday life.

 A short awareness message on the significance of Human Rights Day was also shared with the students.This was followed by a speech competition where students from different houses presented powerful speeches reflecting the theme of equality, dignity, and freedom. 

Later, the young learners showcased the beautiful placards they had prepared, carrying meaningful slogans and illustrations that expressed their understanding of human rights.

Amrita Vidyalayam Kozhikode celebrated Christmas in a joyful manner on 19th December. A special function was organized in the school with the happy participation of students from Pre-KG to Grade 2. The children were dressed in red and white, which added to the festive atmosphere.

The programme started with a Christmas message given by the Principal. Students of Grades 1 and 2 sang beautiful Christmas songs. The children also made Christmas cards and presented them to all the teachers as a gesture of love and respect.

The arrival of Santa Claus made the children very excited. They danced joyfully with Santa, making the celebration colourful and lively. The day was filled with happiness and festive cheer, making it a memorable celebration for everyone

Amrita Vidyalayam, Kozhikode, celebrated Gita Jayanthi Day with devotion and enthusiasm, highlighting the timeless wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita. The programme began with a soulful prayer, followed by the lighting of the lamp, symbolising the removal of ignorance and the ushering in of knowledge and positivity.

This was followed by inspiring messages from the Principal and a motivational address by a teacher, both emphasising the relevance of the Gita in nurturing moral values, discipline, and inner strength among students.

The highlight of the event was the collective chanting of Chapter 16 of the Bhagavad Gita, where students recited the verses with clarity, devotion, and confidence, creating an atmosphere filled with spiritual energy.

A captivating tableau depicting Lord Krishna giving upadeśa to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra brought the essence of the Gita alive. The presentation beautifully portrayed the moment of divine guidance that has inspired generations.

This was followed by a graceful dance performance, adding a vibrant cultural touch to the celebration.

The programme concluded with the reverent Gita Arati, after which prasadam was distributed to all, marking the end of a spiritually enriching event.
