Amrita Student Wins 7 Medals in Swimming

Vikas of Class II C, Amrita Vidyalayam, Ettimadai, has brought international recognition to the school and the nation by excelling at the Asian Open Schools Invitational Short Course Swimming Championship 2025, held at Siam University, Bangkok, Thailand, in September 2025.

Competing against young swimmers from across Asia, Vikas achieved seven medals, including five gold, one silver, and one bronze, and was honoured with the Individual Championship Title.

Total Medals:

  • Gold – 100 mts Freestyle
  • Gold – 25 mts Butterfly Stroke
  • Gold – 50 mts Butterfly Stroke
  • Gold – 100 mts Butterfly Stroke
  • Gold – Individual Medley
  • Silver – 50 mts Freestyle
  • Bronze – 50 mts Backstroke

Swamini Muktamrita Prana, Manager of Amrita Vidyalayam, expressed her heartfelt appreciation, stating, “This achievement is a blessing of Amma’s grace and the fruit of Vikas’s untiring efforts. He stands as a beacon of inspiration for all children to dream big, work hard, and stay rooted in values.”

Special appreciation was also extended to his parents, Ashok Kumar and Gayathri Ashok Kumar, for their tireless support and encouragement.

The school acknowledged the dedicated guidance of Coach Kumaran of Amrita Aquatics, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, whose training and mentorship played a vital role in this achievement.
