Amrita Vidyalaya, Mananthavady, celebrated World Environment Day on June 5, 2025. The day was marked with a series of meaningful and engaging activities aimed at fostering love for nature and encouraging sustainable practices among students. The program began with a special assembly led by the Eco Club, where students presented a prayer song dedicated to Mother Earth, followed by a pledge to protect the environment. Nakshathra D of grade 7th delivered an inspiring speech on this year’s theme, highlighting the urgent need to protect land resources and fight desertification and climate change.
In addition, the campus greening initiative was a major part of the day. Students, under the guidance of teachers, planted saplings around the school premises. Each class adopted a plant, taking responsibility for its care throughout the academic year.
The principal, in her address, praised the efforts of students and staff in making the day meaningful. She reminded everyone of Amma’s message—that "nature is our mother, and protecting her is our foremost duty." She encouraged students to become environmental warriors in their homes and communities.
World Environment Day at Amrita Vidyalaya, Mananthavady was not just a celebration but a reaffirmation of the school’s commitment to nurture responsible citizens who care for the planet and work towards a greener, healthier future.
