The 21 Amritam Practices were meaningfully inaugurated on June 2nd at Amrita Vidyalayam with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolising the awakening of compassion and selfless service. Among these noble practices, the initiative titled “A Handful of Grains, A Heart Full of Love” was introduced during the morning assembly. The entire staff of Amrita Vidyalayam participated with grace and devotion, setting a powerful example of giving and togetherness.

Later, students from all classes actively joined in by donating a handful of rice or grains. These offerings were lovingly packed and weighed under the guidance of the in-charge teachers and housekeeping staff. Class-wise records were maintained meticulously. The collected rice will be safely stored with necessary preservatives and will soon be distributed to those in need.

Through this thoughtful initiative, every handful carried not just grains, but the values of compassion, empathy, and collective responsibility — echoing Amma’s message of love in action.
