Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad celebrated Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, with great joy and enthusiasm on August 29, 2025. The school was filled with festive spirit, showcasing the rich cultural heritage and traditions of Kerala.

The celebration began with the Pookkalam (floral carpet), where plus-two students designed beautiful floral patterns symbolizing prosperity and unity. The venue was decorated traditionally, creating a vibrant and colorful atmosphere.

The formal function started with a prayer followed by the lighting of the lamp. Various cultural programs such as Thiruvathira, Onam songs and onam games were presented, reflecting Kerala's traditions. Fun-filled games like Vadamvali and cheers to the celebration.

The highlight of the day was the Onasadya (traditional feast) served on banana leaves, which brought everyone together in a spirit of unity and happiness.

The Onam celebration reminded everyone of the values of togetherness, sharing, and joy that the festival signifies.
