Amrita Vidyalayam Senior Secondary School, Ramanathapuram, achieved a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new NCC Unit under the 9 Tamil Nadu Battalion NCC on 17 October 2025. The programme was inaugurated by Lt. Col. Siby Thomas, Commanding Officer, 9 Tamil Nadu Battalion NCC, Karaikudi.
Following the inauguration, NCC enrolment and selection were conducted for interested students. A large number of students enthusiastically participated in the selection process, displaying discipline, physical fitness, and a strong interest in serving the nation.
The selected cadets commenced their initial training, which included drill practice, basic military discipline, leadership development, and physical fitness activities. The training programme aims to instill values such as patriotism, responsibility, teamwork, and self-confidence among students.
The initiative was highly appreciated by the school management, Principal, and staff members. The establishment of the NCC Unit provides students with a valuable platform to develop leadership qualities, enhance their personality, and prepare themselves for future service to the nation.
The programme was a great success and marked the beginning of a promising journey for the newly enrolled cadets, laying a strong foundation for nurturing disciplined, responsible, and service-minded citizens.
