Amrita Vidyalayam in Tanur has been awarded the GEP Green School Badge, from the Global Greening Education Partnership for its excellence in sustainability in education. In addition to this worldwide award, they previously received the National Green School Ranking Award at the 9th NYC Green School Conference (2020) at Cornell University, New York City, during the 80th UN General Assembly and Climate Week by aligning with the UNESCO Green School Quality Standards.
A Greening Education Partner (GEP) recognized that by giving a badge to Amrita Vidyalayam Tanur, for incorporating sustainability into all areas of governance and curriculum (the school's way of providing education), Campus Operations (the way the school functions on a day-to-day basis), and Community engagement. The award also serves as an endorsement by the GEP of the school's position as a leader in creating climate ready, environmentally responsible learners.
In addition, the badge will appear next to the school logo in all communications, websites, and reports as a way to demonstrate the success in fulfilling an international set of green criteria.
