We are pleased to report the successful commencement of the sacred Ramayana Masam celebrations at our school, marking the beginning of the holy month of Karkidakam.
To begin the month on a spiritual note, a special session was organized for our Pre-KG, LKG, UKG, and KG students.
Teachers introduced the epic of Ramayana in a simple, age-appropriate manner. The little ones learned about the main characters—Lord Rama, Sita Devi, and Lakshmana—along with the noble values they embody, such as truthfulness, obedience, courage, and devotion. Children listened attentively and responded with genuine curiosity and joy.
Bhajans and Devotional Singing
• The session included the singing of bhajans and devotional songs related to Lord Rama and the Ramayana.The children joyfully participated, clapping and singing along, adding warmth and devotion to the atmosphere.
The celebration concluded with the distribution of prasadam to all children. Teachers also received prasadam, marking a peaceful and blessed end to the day’s program.
Learning Outcomes
• Spiritual Awareness: Students were introduced to the cultural and religious significance of the Ramayana and the month of Karkidakam. Moral Development is through stories and songs; children learned core values such as righteousness (dharma), respect, and compassion. Listening & Comprehension Skills Exposure to storytelling enhanced their listening abilities and understanding of narrative sequences. Cultural Connection: Children gained a sense of belonging to their heritage and traditions in a joyful, age-appropriate manner. Active Participation: Singing bhajans and participating in group activities improved their confidence and sense of community.
The day marked a meaningful and heartwarming beginning to the Ramayana Masam, leaving the children inspired and spiritually uplifted.
