Amrita Vidyalayam, Changanassery, observed World Environment Day on 5th June 2025 with great enthusiasm and a range of meaningful activities aimed at spreading awareness about environmental conservation. 

The celebrations began during the morning assembly, where students gifted saplings to the chief guests as a symbolic gesture of nurturing nature. Ms. Sreelata delivered an inspiring Environment Day message, emphasizing the importance of individual and collective efforts in protecting our planet. Students of Class X presented thought-provoking speeches, underlining that environmental protection is the need of the hour. A heartfelt poem celebrating the diversity of the plant kingdom was beautifully sung by the students, adding a creative touch to the occasion.

 Further activities were carried out throughout the day. Students of Classes V and VI participated enthusiastically in a quiz competition that tested their knowledge on environmental topics. Eye-catching posters were created by students, reflecting their concern and creativity in addressing environmental issues.

A special session was arranged for the students of Class VII, during which Ms.Athira Dileep introduced a new tree — Bael (Koovalam) — and explained its medicinal properties. This session encouraged students to appreciate the healing power of nature and the significance of traditional knowledge. 

The celebration concluded with a strong message of environmental responsibility and commitment. Both students and staff members participated wholeheartedly, making the event a resounding success. 

Such initiatives go a long way in nurturing environmentally responsible citizens of tomorrow.
