Our school had the great honour of welcoming Subedar Major and Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav, the youngest soldier to receive India’s highest military award, the Param Vir Chakra. His presence filled the atmosphere with pride and patriotism. The programme began with a respectful march past, followed by a heartfelt tribute to the 21 Param Vir Chakra awardees. The dignitaries were introduced and felicitated, and our Principal Ma’am delivered a warm welcome speech. A short introduction about Amma and her humanitarian organisation added meaning to the event, reminding everyone about the values of love, service, and compassion.
The Chief Guest, Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav, inspired the audience with his life story filled with bravery and sacrifice. He shared how, at just 19 years old, he courageously climbed the steep, snow-covered cliffs of Tiger Hill during the Kargil War, facing intense machine-gun and rocket fire. Despite being shot multiple times, he continued his mission, helping his team capture the bunker and secure victory for the nation. Students listened with awe as he spoke about courage, duty, and never giving up. His journey from a brave soldier to a respected national hero left a deep impact on everyone present. The programme concluded with a sincere vote of thanks and the soulful singing of Vande Mataram, filling every heart with pride for our nation.
