Amrita Vidyalayam in Pathanamthitta observed the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on June 26 with a variety of activities designed to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and to promote healthy lifestyle choices.
The program featured an Inter-House Speech Competition, where students from Grades 8 and 9 confidently articulated their views on the importance of being informed and responsible. A creative Sticky Note Campaign by Grade 9 students added visual impact, as messages advocating against drug abuse were prominently displayed on the school notice board. An awareness session led by Shri Jayachandran, ASI, and his team from the Pathanamthitta Police Department provided valuable insights into drug prevention and included a demonstration on self-protection against various forms of abuse. The day concluded with all students and teachers taking a pledge during the morning assembly to lead drug-free lives. This event was a meaningful initiative that reinforced the importance of making informed and responsible choices for personal well-being and a safer society.
