On October 22, 2025, Amrita Vidyalayam, Edappally, commemorated the National Colors Day. As part of the celebration, five events were conducted among Pre-kg to UKG Kids. Kids enthusiastically participated in all the events, which made them learn about different types of colors.
The main goal of this celebration was to create awareness and to make a colorful environment for our young learners while helping them understand the importance of colors and the significance of colors. It also aimed to boost their self-expression, creativity, and confidence through active participation.
Highlights of the Day:
Dress Code for the event is that all children come dressed in bright and colorful clothes. The colors added vibrance to the day. We had activities like a color wheel, colorful food items, and an umbrella dance. Children joyfully participated in coloring an umbrella with different colors and also made kids to have handprints with their favorite colors. At last, teachers and kids prepared a fruit salad by the LKG kids, which made it more fun and memorable.
Learning Outcomes:
Kids learned about the colors and the different types of colors and shades. Participating in group activities helped teamwork, cooperation, and friendship. Salad preparation and group drawing activities allowed children to express themselves and develop fine motor skills. Celebrating colors and objects around them increased their sense of curiosity, joy, and appreciation for everyday items.
