An awareness class on the harmful effects of tobacco usage was conducted at our school during the last week (Date: 03.02.26). The programme was organised with the aim of creating awareness among students about the dangers of tobacco consumption.
A doctor from the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Name: Dr Thara Aravind) visited the school and led the awareness session. Students of Classes 7 and 8 attended the programme. The doctor explained the ill effects of tobacco use, its impact on health, and the long-term consequences of addiction. The session helped students understand how tobacco affects the mouth, face, and overall health.
As part of the programme, a small skit based on the theme of tobacco awareness was also performed. The skit effectively conveyed the message of avoiding tobacco and leading a healthy life. It was informative, engaging, and well-received by the students.
The awareness class was very informative and beneficial. It helped students gain a clear understanding of the harmful effects of tobacco usage and encouraged them to stay away from such habits. The programme was successfully conducted and appreciated by students and teachers.
