About

Amrita Vidyalayam, Pune, is a higher secondary school situated behind Nigdi bus stop in Yamuna Nagar, Pune.  This Amrita Vidyalayam is administered by Mata Amritanandamayi Math, and is affiliated to the STATE BOARD.

As a part of the Amrita family, we aim to instil in our students a strong sense of our cultural and spiritual values, while imparting the best in modern scientific education.

76th Republic Day Celebration
News

The Republic Day celebration began with a warm welcome to the chief guest, Dr. Salil Patil, followed by the flag unfurling ceremony. Students and staff sang the National Anthem, “Jhanda Geet,” and pledge in Hindi under the leadership of Vedika Biradar from Std. VIII. Students from Std. III to VIII presented a patriotic song, “Bharat Hamko Jaan Se Pyara Hai.” Hital Thakare from Std. VIII delivered a speech in English, while Chaudhari Bhavesh from Std. IX spoke in Hindi. Mrs. Kala Nair introduced the chief guest, who was then honoured by the Principal. Students from Std. IX performed a pyramid formation, and children from the Yoga class showcased their skills. The school magazine " Amritabindu" was unveiled by the chief guest during the event.

The program also included a prize distribution ceremony. Students were awarded for their achievements in various competitions, including the Ramayana Elocution, Essay Writing (in Marathi and English), and Drawing competitions for different grades. Winners of the Hindi Divas Essay Competition (Std. VIII to XII), Storytelling (Std. VI to VII), and Recitation (Std. V to VII) were also recognized. Special awards were given to three students for their proficiency in Hindi Rashtra Bhasha. Mrs. Vrunda Mahajan delivered the vote of thanks, while Mrs. Lovely Ghosh anchored the event. The prize distribution was managed by Mrs. Pallavi Borade and Mrs. Divya Menon, concluding the celebration on a high note.

Grand Celebration of Annual Sports Day 2024-2025
News

The Annual Sports Day at our school was celebrated with great enthusiasm and a spirit of camaraderie over two exciting days. The secondary section events took place on January 18th, while the primary section sports day was held on January 19th. Mr. Rohan More, the first Asian and Indian to swim across the Ocean Seven, graced the occasion as the chief guest for the secondary section. The day began with the lighting of the lamp at the Lotus Feet of Amma, followed by a soulful song by the Std V to VII girls’ choir. After the ceremonial release of balloons by the chief guest, the sports torch was carried by our athletes, and a splendid march past was performed. The Principal presented the Annual Report, and Mr. More inspired everyone with a speech on the importance of sports in enhancing academics. The highlight of the day was the captivating theme-based demonstrations such as Zumba, yoga for all ages, lezim, and pyramids, which added vigour to the celebration. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony for SSC and HSC students and a heartfelt vote of thanks. 

On January 19th, the primary section celebrated their Sports Day with equal zeal. Mr. Jayant Gokhale, a recipient of the prestigious Shiv Chhatrapati Award in chess, was the chief guest. The event commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a beautiful song by the Std III to IV girls choir. Balloons were released to mark the spirit of the day, and the sports torch relay and march past added to the grandeur. The Vice-Principal read the Annual Report, and a prize distribution ceremony honoured students excelling in various competitions such as fancy dress, drawing, colouring, and essays. The best sportsman trophy was awarded to the most deserving student. The event also showcased a mesmerizing and delightful sports demonstrations, including drills, dumbbells, and stick exercises. 

Both days reflected the school’s commitment to fostering physical fitness and teamwork among students, perfectly aligned with the theme "Fitness for All." The well-coordinated programs highlighted the dedication of students and teachers alike. Each event was a testament to the vibrant school spirit, culminating in the rendition of "Vande Mataram," leaving everyone inspired and motivated to pursue a healthy and active lifestyle.
