News

Students with the Amrita Vidyalayam in Nallampalayam, Coimbatore celebrated their school’s 25th anniversary in a unique way—they set 27 world records. In honour of its academic excellence, the school hosted the Amrita Vidyalayam World Records Festival 2025 from April 3 to April 11, 2025.

The records were officially certified by Elite World Records, Asian Records Academy, India Records Academy, and the Tamilan Book of Records, under the close supervision of 27 adjudicators from 3 countries and 7 different states of India.

Swamini Muktamrita Prana, Manager of Amrita Vidyalayam for Nallampalayam, Ettimadai, and Kalapatti, highlighted Amma’s guiding philosophy: “Gaining mastery over the mind is the real education.”

Children with an Amrita School in Tamil Nadu Set 27 World Records

These powerful words shaped the very core of the gathering. It brought to life Amma’s vision of nurturing not just intelligence but also creativity, discipline, and character in every child. Each record was a reflection of the mindfulness instilled by their teachers, the values upheld by the school, and the overall holistic development we give to every child.

In that light, the Citation ceremony included a total of 3091 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade XII. Along with 154 dedicated educators and 150 supporting staff, all came together to make the impossible possible.

Overall, the children set 4 records in Art & Craft, 11 in Academic Excellence, 3 in Environment & Sustainability, 1 in Memory & Mind Skills, 2 in Literature & Language, 2 in Sports, 1 in Dance, and 3 in Spiritual & Cultural Expressions.

The children created a massive portrait of Amma with origami hearts.

Most Participants Chanting Simultaneously – 2020 students from Grade II to Grade XII chanted verses from the Bhagavad Gita for over 21 minutes, led by a chanting instructor.

The collection took 11 minutes, and the eco-bricks will be used to build a monument for the school.

Most Participants Playing Catch with Origami Balls Simultaneously – 2045 students from Grade II to Grade XII participated, playing catch for 5 minutes 33 seconds without interruption. Each student made five origami balls in class and brought them along. Before the attempt, they blew air into the balls and joyfully tossed them into the sky.

For math puzzles, they tackled three different types of puzzles, showcasing their precision and mathematical proficiency. In the word puzzle event, they solved crosswords and other linguistic challenges, highlighting their vocabulary, spelling, and comprehension skills.

The students were trained by their math and English teachers for over 45 days, mastering various solving techniques. Advanced solvers among the students mentored their peers, promoting teamwork and peer learning. Independent witnesses and timekeepers evaluated the accuracy of the solutions under the supervision of adjudicators.

Guru Purnima
News

Amrita Vidyalayam, Nallampalayam celebrated Guru Purnima by organizing a Padha Pooja ceremony to show gratitude to the parents. This special event held on three consecutive days from 19th July, 2024 to 22nd July, 2024 underscored the significant role that parents play as the first gurus in their children's lives.

Our revered Swamiji Ajamritananda Puri accepted our invitation and guided the students step by step to do the Padha Pooja for the parents. Padha Pooja is an ancient Indian tradition where the feet of elders, especially parents and teachers, are washed as a mark of respect and gratitude.

The ceremony commenced by doing Padhukabhishekam for our Sadguru Amma’s padam by Swamiji and Swamini Mukthaamrita Prana, the Manager of the school. Swamiji emphasized the importance of Matru Vandana, where parents are our first guru to get blessings on this auspicious occasion. The students performed the Padha Pooja for their parents in a beautifully decorated hall. The atmosphere was filled with devotion and reverence, as parents and children participated in this profound act of gratitude.

The Guru Purnima celebration at our school was a resounding success, filled with joy, gratitude, and a deep sense of respect for parents. This event fostered a sense of community and mutual appreciation among students and teachers.
