Amrita Vidyalayam, Koyilandy, celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great enthusiasm, patriotic fervour, and pride. The celebration brought together students and teachers in a spirit of unity and love for the nation. Almost all the students participated wholeheartedly, making the occasion truly memorable.
The programme commenced with the flag-hoisting ceremony by the Chief Guest, Sri Reghunath, Preventive Officer, Excise Department. The National Flag was hoisted with due respect, followed by the National Anthem. The entire school community stood together and saluted the Tricolour with great pride.
The celebration featured a variety of patriotic programmes, including Vande Mataram, patriotic songs, a mass drill, and an impressive pyramid formation. The students displayed remarkable discipline, coordination, and enthusiasm throughout the programme.
The winners of the Independence Day Quiz, conducted on 13th August, were honoured with prizes by the Chief Guest. The prize distribution added great excitement and encouragement to the young participants.
The little ones presented a delightful Fancy Dress programme, portraying great freedom fighters and national heroes. Their colourful and inspiring presentation helped the children learn about the brave personalities who contributed to India's freedom struggle.
Students from Classes III to VIII presented a spectacular Independence Day dance, skatting, and yoga dance beautifully portraying the spirit of patriotism, unity, and love for the motherland. Their energetic performance was appreciated by everyone.
The school notice boards were also attractively decorated with Independence Day themes, featuring patriotic messages, national symbols, and creative displays that enhanced the festive atmosphere across the campus.
A special highlight of the celebration was the 45-minute awareness session conducted by the Chief Guest on the harmful effects of drug abuse. He sensitised the students about the physical, mental, social, and academic consequences of drug use and encouraged them to stay away from harmful substances. His valuable message inspired the students to make healthy and responsible choices and contribute towards building a drug-free and strong India.
The celebration concluded on a joyful and patriotic note, leaving the students with a renewed sense of pride in our nation and a deeper understanding of their responsibilities as responsible citizens.
