Amrita Vidyalayam, Mananthavady observed Ramayana Month

Amrita Vidyalayam, Mananthavady, observed the sacred Ramayana Masam with devotion and enthusiasm, in tune with Kerala’s spiritual tradition of reading the Ramayana during the month of Karkidakam.

The month-long observance began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp and the chanting of the Ramayana dhyanam. Each day, selected students and teachers took turns to read verses from Adhyatma Ramayanam, followed by short reflections highlighting the values and teachings from Lord Rama’s life — such as truthfulness, righteousness, obedience, humility, and devotion to duty.

Special assemblies will be held every week where students presented slokas and bhajans. These creative presentations deepened the students' connection with the epic and conveyed timeless moral values in an engaging way. The Ramayana Month long celebration will include Ramayana Quiz and debate. Teachers also conducted discussions on the relevance of Ramayana in daily life, encouraging students to practice virtues like respect for parents, courage, and honesty.

The principal, in her address, appreciated the efforts of the students and staff and emphasized the importance of learning from our epics to lead a value-based life.
