World Pest Day, also known as World Pest Awareness Day, is observed annually on June 6. This day aims to raise public awareness about the vital role that pest control plays in protecting health, food, property, and the environment.

To commemorate World Pest Day, Amrita Vidyalayam in Pathanamthitta organized a video-making competition for sixth-grade students centered around the theme "Interview with a Farmer." This initiative aimed to raise awareness about the impact of pests on agriculture and the importance of effective pest management. Students enthusiastically took on the roles of both interviewers and farmers, creatively showcasing the real-life challenges faced in farming and potential solutions. The event fostered research skills, enhanced communication abilities, and cultivated a deeper appreciation for the vital role that farmers play in ensuring food security.
