Amrita Vidyalayam Kuthuparamba takes immense pride in the selfless act of kindness by Shreya S Nair, a class V student. In response to the devastating landslides in Wayanad, Kerala, on July 30, 2024, Shreya sold her earrings and donated ₹12,000 to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund to aid the flood-affected communities.

The landslides, which occurred near Punjirimattom, Mundakkai, Chooralmala, and Vellarimala villages in Wayanad, caused immense destruction. Shreya’s generous contribution, made through the Pathanamthitta district collector Shri Prem Krishnan S IAS, is a testament to her compassion and concern for the well-being of those affected.

The school is incredibly proud of Shreya’s thoughtful gesture and continues to encourage such acts of empathy and community support. Her contribution serves as an inspiration to others, demonstrating that even small actions can make a significant difference during times of crisis.
