Gurupoornima 2024 - Thiruvalla

Our school celebrated Guru Poornima as Sanskriti Pooja  with deep devotion and cultural richness, honoring the timeless values of respect, gratitude, and reverence towards one’s teachers and parents. Swamini Bhavyamrita Pranaji, In-Charge of Mata Amritanandamayi Math Thiruvalla blessed the occasion and led the Sanskriti pooja.

The day began with the chanting of Vedic mantras and devotional songs, creating a serene and uplifting atmosphere. A beautifully arranged altar with Amma’s image, adorned with flowers and lamps, served as the spiritual focal point of the ceremony.

Students and teachers gathered to reflect on the significance of Guru Poornima — a day to honor the Sadguru, the one who dispels darkness and leads us toward the light of truth. Through heartfelt speeches, stories from Amma’s life, and the recitation of her teachings, students learned about the values of humility, selfless service (seva), and unconditional love.

Special bhajans dedicated to Amma were sung with devotion, filling the space with divine energy and joy. Teachers also spoke about how Amma, through her life and mission, continues to guide countless souls on the path of dharma, peace, and inner awakening.

The event reminded us all that the Guru is not just a teacher, but a light, a presence, and a boundless source of love — and in Amma, we are blessed to experience the Guru in her most compassionate form.

Guru Poornima was not just a celebration — it was a moment of spiritual connection, heartfelt gratitude, and silent surrender at the feet of the divine.

The atmosphere turned emotional and sacred during the Mathru Pooja ceremony. Students washed the feet of their mothers as a symbolic gesture of gratitude, love, and humility — recognizing the divine presence in motherhood. The ceremony was accompanied by soft bhajans and explanations of the spiritual and cultural significance of honoring one’s parents.

The celebration was not just a cultural event, but a soul-touching experience that nurtured deep-rooted Indian values in the hearts of our young learners. It reminded everyone present of the importance of humility, respect, and expressing heartfelt gratitude towards those who nurture, guide, and support us.

The event concluded with blessings, smiles, and a sense of inner peace — a celebration of the Guru in every teacher and the Devi in every mother.
