Amrita Vidyalayam, Nigdi, celebrated International Yoga Day on 21 June 2026 with enthusiasm and a strong message of health, mindfulness and holistic well-being.
The programme highlighted the importance of Yoga in maintaining a healthy body, a calm mind and a balanced lifestyle. Aanagha Dalvi of Std. VII B delivered a short and informative speech, highlighting the significance of International Yoga Day and the valuable role that Yoga plays in our daily lives.
Following the informative session, students presented an engaging Yoga demonstration featuring various physical movements, exercises and yogic practices. Students from Std. II to Std. VIII participated in the demonstration, showcasing different Yoga postures with discipline, coordination and enthusiasm.
Nearly 30 students took part in the Yoga demonstration, making the celebration a meaningful and inspiring experience for the school community.
The programme served as a reminder that Yoga is not merely a form of physical exercise but a pathway towards physical fitness, mental well-being, concentration and inner harmony. By encouraging students to practise Yoga from a young age, the school continues to promote healthy habits and holistic development.
