National Handloom Day was observed at Amrita Vidyalayam  Changanassery on 7th August 2025 to highlight the importance of India’s rich handloom tradition and to encourage the use of indigenous products.

Students presented speeches emphasizing the role of handloom in India’s freedom struggle and its continued significance in promoting self-reliance. Charts, posters, and models depicting different weaving styles and handloom products were displayed, creating awareness among the students.

Ms. Renju Narayanan, faculty member, addressed the gathering and reminded the students of the need to support Indian weavers by promoting handloom products in daily life. The programme inspired everyone to take pride in our heritage and to preserve the art of weaving for future generations.
