As part of National Space Day, Amrita Vidyalayam Vellimadukunnu conducted various programmes on 22nd August, Friday, with great enthusiasm.
The formal function began with anchoring by Arppana of Class 7, who welcomed the gathering warmly. The Principal then addressed the audience, highlighting the importance of India’s achievements in space exploration. Sai Sri Santhosni of Grade 6 delivered a thought-provoking speech on National Space Day, which was followed by an informative video presentation about the galaxy.
To make the event more engaging, the Principal entertained the students by showing a few scenes from the movie Mangalyaan and also shared some inspiring words about India’s Mars Mission. A quiz competition was conducted based on space, which saw active participation from the students. A house-based poster making competition was also organized, encouraging creativity and teamwork among the students.
For the junior section, students of Grades 3 and 4 participated in a group-wise colouring competition, while the little ones of Grade 1 and 2 enjoyed making tiny paper rockets. These activities filled the day with excitement, learning, and fun.
The programme turned out to be a joyful learning experience. It encouraged scientific curiosity, creativity, and teamwork among the students, making the celebration both meaningful and memorable.
