As part of National Reading Day celebrations, Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad organized a vibrant and inspiring literary program to instill a love for reading and language among students.
The event was highlighted by a special session titled “Maduram Malayalam,” which celebrated the richness and beauty of the Malayalam language. Sri. Kalyanakrishnan, Sales Organizer at Mathrubhumi, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He delivered an insightful and motivating talk on the importance of reading in shaping the character, imagination, and intellect of young minds.
The programme also witnessed the gracious presence of Smt. Nimmi, Manager, and Sri. Vishnu, PRO from Drisyam Eye Care, Chavakkad. Their words of encouragement and support added great value to the event.
In addition to guest sessions, a variety of engaging student-centered activities were conducted as part of the celebration:
Classes 1–2: Drawing Competition
Children expressed their understanding of stories through drawings. They illustrated their favorite book characters or scenes, showcasing imagination and comprehension through art.
Classes 3–5: Cover Page Designing
Students created unique and colorful cover pages for storybooks—complete with titles, author names, and illustrations—enhancing their creativity and visual presentation skills.
Classes 6–8: Create-a-Story Activity
Students were given prompts to write original stories. This helped them develop plot structure, dialogue writing, and creativity in expressing thoughts in a narrative format.
Classes 9–11: Poster Making
Senior students designed posters with slogans and visuals promoting reading habits through artistic expression.
