Students Explore Traditional Handloom Weaving at Amrita Vidyalayam, Kuthuparamba
The students of Amrita Vidyalayam, Kuthuparamba visited the Purakallam Handloom Society. As a part of an EVS activity they learned about traditional handloom weaving and observed its production methods.
As a follow-up, Classes IV and V prepared craft items using different fibres and displayed different handlooms of India on a bulletin board. Students also prepared and submitted reports on the visit. These activities helped them understand the importance of handloom and the skills involved in weaving.
