World Environment Day at Amrita Vidyalayam, Ayyanthole -2025

World Environment Day Celebration On June 5, 2025, Amrita Vidyalayam, Ayyanthole, marked World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and dedication.
June 4
Class 6 students participated in a webinar organized by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSEL) under the aegis of Eco Clubs for Mission Life. The webinar, chaired by Shri Karthikeya Sarabhai, Director of CEE, highlighted critical environmental issues, including:
- 1. Microplastics and their effects on the ecosystem
- 2. The importance of the 6Rs: Reduce, Refuse, Recycle, Recover, Reuse, and Regift
Following the webinar, students embarked on a nature walk in the school garden, where they:
- 1. Explored plant diversity
- 2. Measured plant heights
- 3. Classified plants into shrubs, herbs, and trees
- 4. Observed plant textures

The day began with a vibrant notice board decoration, showcasing students' creativity and inspiring ideas on environmental protection.
The highlight of the event was the inauguration of the Amrita Vegetable Gardening program for the academic year 2025-26, graced by Retd. Judge Dr. P N Vijayakumar Sir. Dr. Vijayakumar Sir participated in a seed ball preparation activity with students, emphasizing the importance of greening our environment.
Class 7 students organized an impressive exhibition showcasing the medicinal properties of various kitchen ingredients.
Students from Classes 1 to 9 participated in a creative book binding activity, demonstrating their creativity and resourcefulness.
Dr. Vijayakumar Sir delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the significance of environmental protection and conservation. A poem recitation from his book "Souhardham" added depth to the event.
