The Investiture Ceremony of our school Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad was held on 20/6/2026 in the school assembly courtyard with great enthusiasm and dignity. The ceremony marked the formal induction of the newly elected Student Council for the academic year 2026- 27

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a prayer seeking blessings for the student leaders. The Principal, teachers and students graced the occasion with their presence.
The newly elected Head Boy- Ahas Krishna (XI), Head Girl-Adilakshmi ( XI) House Captains, Vice-Captains and other council members were conferred with badges and sashes by the Principal and other dignitaries. The student leaders then took the oath of office, pledging to uphold the values of the school and carry out their responsibilities with sincerity, dedication, and integrity.

Addressing the gathering, the academic coordinator congratulated the newly appointed leaders and encouraged them to be role models for their peers. The Principal emphasized the importance of leadership, teamwork, discipline, and service.

The Head Boy and Head Girl expressed their gratitude and assured everyone that they would work diligently for the welfare of the school community.

World Bicycle Day was celebrated in our school on 8thJune 2026 with great enthusiasm to create awareness about the importance of cycling for health and environmental sustainability. The programme was organized under the guidance of the school principal and teachers.

The celebration began with a prayer where students were introduced to the significance of World Bicycle Day. The teacher addressed the students and highlighted the benefits of cycling, such as maintaining physical fitness, reducing pollution, and promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle.

A slow bicycle race was organized in which students actively participated by bringing bicycles to school. The purpose aimed to spread awareness among the students about reducing fuel consumption and adopting healthy habits. The inspiring motto of this program was“Ride a Bicycle, Save the Planet” and “Pedal for a Healthier Future.

The programme concluded successfully with a vote of thanks by a teacher, appreciating the efforts of all participants and encouraging everyone to use bicycles regularly for a healthier and greener future.

Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad, celebrated World Environment Day on 5 June 2026 with great enthusiasm under the theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.” The programme featured a special assembly by Classes 1 and 2, a sustainability pledge led by Classes 6, 7, and 8, the creation of a vegetable garden by Classes 3, 4, and 5, a medicinal plants exhibition, and an awareness skit on climate change. 

The Chief Guest, Dr. Prajith T. M., Assistant Professor, P.G. and Research Department of Botany, Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur, interacted with students and emphasized the importance of environmental conservation. The celebration inspired students to adopt eco-friendly practices and become responsible stewards of nature.

The Amrita Fest Off-Stage Competitions were successfully conducted on 27 June 2026 at Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad. Students from different classes enthusiastically participated in a variety of literary and creative events, showcasing their talents and creativity.

The competitions included Versification in Malayalam, English, and Hindi, Essay Writing in English, Malayalam, and Hindi, Story Writing, Digital Painting, and PowerPoint Presentation. Participants displayed excellent language skills, originality, imagination, and presentation abilities throughout the events.

The competitions were conducted smoothly in a disciplined and encouraging atmosphere. Teachers ensured the fair and systematic conduct of all events. The programme provided students with a valuable platform to express their creativity, develop confidence, and enhance their literary and technological skills.

The off-stage competitions of Amrita Fest concluded successfully, making the event a memorable and enriching experience for all participants.

Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad celebrated National Doctor’s Day on 1st July 2026 with the theme “Behind the Mask: Who Heals the Healers?” to honour the selfless service of doctors and inspire future healers.

Programme Highlights: 

1. 1. Morning Assembly Speech: The day began with Aniha delivering a thoughtful speech during the morning assembly on the significance of Doctor’s Day and the invaluable role of doctors in society. She reminded everyone that “The good physician treats the disease; the great physician treats the patient who has the disease.” – William Osler
2. 2. Special Programme: A special programme was conducted in the school auditorium with Dr. Sruthy Vinesh, BAMS, Chief Physician, Harikanyaka Ayurkendra, Ariyannur as the Chief Guest.
3. 3. Welcome Address: Head Girl, Adhilakshmi formally welcomed the gathering and emphasized that doctors are true warriors in white coat.
4. 4. Chief Guest’s Address: Dr. Sruthy Vinesh captivated the audience with her address on importance of health, civic sense, and personal hygiene. She narrated the inspiring life of Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, highlighting how “To serve humanity is to serve God.” She urged students to respect doctors and adopt preventive healthcare.
5. 5. Voices of Future Doctors: The most touching segment was when our aspiring doctors shared their dreams. Anusree and Gayathri K R from Class 10, and Anusree from Class 12, spoke with conviction about their passion to heal and serve. Their words echoed the quote: “Wherever the art of medicine is loved, there is also a love of humanity.” – Hippocrates
6. 6. Vote of Thanks: Head Boy, Ahas Krishna proposed the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sruthy for her time and wisdom, and to all who made the day meaningful
   The celebration was a fitting tribute to doctors and left students inspired to value health and service. As the saying goes, “Not all heroes wear capes, some wear stethoscopes.”

A Memorable Encounter with Amma

A wave of joy and devotion filled the hearts of the students and teachers of Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad, as they received the blessed darshan of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) during her visit to Thrissur. Our students captivated the audience with vibrant dance performances and inspiring speeches. The opportunity to be in Amma's divine presence and receive her blessings made the day truly unforgettable and spiritually enriching.

As part of the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, our school organized an awareness programme on 23rd June 2026 to educate students about the harmful effects of drug abuse.

 An inspiring anti-drug awareness speech by Aadhya Prakas of Class IX, who highlighted the importance of making responsible choices, resisting peer pressure, and leading a healthy, drug-free life.

An informative awareness class was then conducted by Civil Excise Officer Shri Manikandan M. for the students of Classes IX, X, XI, and XII. The session focused on the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug abuse and stressed the importance of prevention through awareness and informed decision-making. Students actively participated in the interactive session.
To further reinforce the message, a house-wise poster-making competition was organized. Students from all four houses enthusiastically created creative and thought-provoking posters promoting a drug-free society. The competition effectively encouraged students to spread awareness through their artistic talents.

The programme was highly successful in creating awareness among  students and strengthening their commitment to leading healthy, responsible, and drug-free lives. It concluded with a pledge by all participants to stand united against drug abuse and promote a safe and healthy society.

Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad celebrated Reading day on 19/06/2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students and teachers.

The programme was organized to promote the habit of reading and to honour the contributions of P N Panicker,the father of the library movement in kerala.

The celebration began with a  brief introduction highlighting the importance of reading in developing knowledge ,creativity,and critical thinking. As part of the programme ,students visited the residence of renowned Malayalam writer Madhavikutty(kamala das) and learned about her life and literary contributions. A Roleplay competition was conducted,where students portrayed famous literary characters and authors.The event encouraged creativity and improved students' communication skill.

Students were also asked to read a book and prepare a book review,which helped them develop reading comprehension  and analytical skills.Many students shared their reviews and  reading experiences with their classmates.

Another activity involved students bringing their favourite books to class and introducing them to their friends.This created an opportunity for students to exchange ideas and  discover new books. A Bookmark making activity was organized, and students designed colourful  and creative bookmarks with reading related messages and art work.

The celebration also  included a poster making competition based on the theme of reading.Students prepared attractive posters conveying the importance of books and reading habits. A two minute speech on any book activity was conducted,giving students a platform to express their thoughts on their favourite books and authors.

The reading day celebration was  grand success.The various activities inspired  students to develop a lifelong love for reading and reinforced the message "Read today,Lead tomorrow"

The event was graced by Dr. Neha K. S., BAMS, Medical Officer at Sree Chitra Ayurveda and Academician at Sree Chitra Ayurveda Academy, as the Chief Guest. In her address, she emphasized the importance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being and encouraged students to adopt yoga as a way of life.

As part of the Yoga Day celebrations, students presented a variety of yoga performances. They demonstrated different Yoga Asanas, performed Surya Namaskara, and showcased an impressive Yoga Pyramid, displaying remarkable flexibility, balance, concentration, and teamwork.
