Computer Education initiates our young students into the captivating world of computing, and introduces them to its wide and ever increasing range of applications. We commence computer education from lower classes itself. We make sure that high end machines are available for each child. We have four spacious computer labs that are equipped with the latest computers. In addition to this, we have an E-learning lab with 27 computers with provision for restricted free internet browsing.

Our Amrita Vidyalayam has well equipped science labs, and we focus mainly on hands-on practical work so that students may get a better insight into scientific theories. This enhances the inherent inquisitiveness of the student and energizes him to examine uncharted paths.

Our library occupies two rooms with a large collection of books on a wide variety of topics. Books on spirituality, foreign publications, Encyclopaedias, literary work in English and Malayalam, etc. are available. In addition to this, we also have rare reference books that help to enhance the knowledge of the students.
Our school promotes reading, and encourages students to cultivate a reading habit which in turn can help them to augment their knowledge and language skills.

Physical fitness is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity. Sports provide an excellent opportunity for our students to stay fit and develop team spirit and friendship among other things.

The Investiture Ceremony of our school Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad was held on 20/6/2026 in the school assembly courtyard with great enthusiasm and dignity. The ceremony marked the formal induction of the newly elected Student Council for the academic year 2026- 27
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp and a prayer seeking blessings for the student leaders. The Principal, teachers and students graced the occasion with their presence.
The newly elected Head Boy- Ahas Krishna (XI), Head Girl-Adilakshmi ( XI) House Captains, Vice-Captains and other council members were conferred with badges and sashes by the Principal and other dignitaries. The student leaders then took the oath of office, pledging to uphold the values of the school and carry out their responsibilities with sincerity, dedication, and integrity.
Addressing the gathering, the academic coordinator congratulated the newly appointed leaders and encouraged them to be role models for their peers. The Principal emphasized the importance of leadership, teamwork, discipline, and service.
The Head Boy and Head Girl expressed their gratitude and assured everyone that they would work diligently for the welfare of the school community.

World Bicycle Day was celebrated in our school on 8thJune 2026 with great enthusiasm to create awareness about the importance of cycling for health and environmental sustainability. The programme was organized under the guidance of the school principal and teachers.
The celebration began with a prayer where students were introduced to the significance of World Bicycle Day. The teacher addressed the students and highlighted the benefits of cycling, such as maintaining physical fitness, reducing pollution, and promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle.
A slow bicycle race was organized in which students actively participated by bringing bicycles to school. The purpose aimed to spread awareness among the students about reducing fuel consumption and adopting healthy habits. The inspiring motto of this program was“Ride a Bicycle, Save the Planet” and “Pedal for a Healthier Future.
The programme concluded successfully with a vote of thanks by a teacher, appreciating the efforts of all participants and encouraging everyone to use bicycles regularly for a healthier and greener future.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Prajith T. M., Assistant Professor, P.G. and Research Department of Botany, Sree Krishna College, Guruvayur, interacted with students and emphasized the importance of environmental conservation. The celebration inspired students to adopt eco-friendly practices and become responsible stewards of nature.

The Amrita Fest Off-Stage Competitions were successfully conducted on 27 June 2026 at Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad. Students from different classes enthusiastically participated in a variety of literary and creative events, showcasing their talents and creativity.
The competitions included Versification in Malayalam, English, and Hindi, Essay Writing in English, Malayalam, and Hindi, Story Writing, Digital Painting, and PowerPoint Presentation. Participants displayed excellent language skills, originality, imagination, and presentation abilities throughout the events.
The competitions were conducted smoothly in a disciplined and encouraging atmosphere. Teachers ensured the fair and systematic conduct of all events. A wave of joy and devotion filled the hearts of the students and teachers of Amrita Vidyalayam, Chavakkad, as they received the blessed darshan of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma) during her visit to Thrissur. Our students captivated the audience with vibrant dance performances and inspiring speeches. The opportunity to be in Amma's divine presence and receive her blessings made the day truly unforgettable and spiritually enriching.

As part of the observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, our school organized an awareness programme on 23rd June 2026 to educate students about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
An inspiring anti-drug awareness speech by Aadhya Prakas of Class IX, who highlighted the importance of making responsible choices, resisting peer pressure, and leading a healthy, drug-free life.
An informative awareness class was then conducted by Civil Excise Officer Shri Manikandan M. for the students of Classes IX, X, XI, and XII. The session focused on the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug abuse and stressed the importance of prevention through awareness and informed decision-making. Students actively participated in the interactive session.
To further reinforce the message, a house-wise poster-making competition was organized. Students from all four houses enthusiastically created creative and thought-provoking posters promoting a drug-free society. The competition effectively encouraged students to spread awareness through their artistic talents.
The programme was highly successful in creating awareness among students and strengthening their commitment to leading healthy, responsible, and drug-free lives. It concluded with a pledge by all participants to stand united against drug abuse and promote a safe and healthy society.

The programme was organized to promote the habit of reading and to honour the contributions of P N Panicker,the father of the library movement in kerala.
The celebration began with a brief introduction highlighting the importance of reading in developing knowledge ,creativity,and critical thinking. As part of the programme ,students visited the residence of renowned Malayalam writer Madhavikutty(kamala das) and learned about her life and literary contributions. A Roleplay competition was conducted,where students portrayed famous literary characters and authors.The event encouraged creativity and improved students' communication skill.
Students were also asked to read a book and prepare a book review,which helped them develop reading comprehension and analytical skills.Many students shared their reviews and reading experiences with their classmates.
Another activity involved students bringing their favourite books to class and introducing them to their friends.This created an opportunity for students to exchange ideas and discover new books. A Bookmark making activity was organized, and students designed colourful and creative bookmarks with reading related messages and art work.
The celebration also included a poster making competition based on the theme of reading.Students prepared attractive posters conveying the importance of books and reading habits.
