Amrita Vidyalayam, Madurai, observed World Environment Day with a Bee-Flora Planting Drive organised by AYUDH (Awaken Youth Unite for Dharma), the youth movement guided by Mata Amritanandamayi Devi (Amma).
The programme was inaugurated by [Chief Guest Name], [Designation], in the presence of [Guest 2 Name], [Designation], and H. Adhikesavan, Principal, Amrita Vidyalayam, Madurai. Teachers, AYUDH coordinators and students participated in the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said, "Young people have the power to bring meaningful change. Programmes like this help them become active participants in conservation and inspire them to take responsibility for protecting the environment."
As part of the drive, students planted native flowering species that support bees and other pollinators, helping create a greener and more pollinator-friendly campus while raising awareness about environmental conservation.
The initiative sought to help students understand the importance of bees and other pollinators in maintaining ecological balance and food security, while encouraging them to adopt environmentally responsible practices in their daily lives.
