Amrita Vidyalayam Thalassery celebrated the 79th Independence Day on 15th August with great pride and patriotic zeal. The programme began with the unfurling of the National Flag by Shri Dineshan B. M., Head Constable (Kerala Police), CISF – Indian Army, followed by the singing of the National Anthem, which filled the atmosphere with patriotic spirit.
We celebrated our nation’s 79th Independence Day with great pride and enthusiasm. The day began with the hoisting of the national flag, followed by the singing of the national anthem. Patriotic songs, speeches, and cultural programs reminded everyone of the sacrifices made by our freedom fighters.

As part of the vibrant celebrations of DARSH 2025, the Dance Fest brought the stage to life with captivating performances that beautifully showcased the richness of India’s classical and folk traditions. Students from various categories participated with great enthusiasm, presenting classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Kuchipudi, alongside a variety of colorful folk dances. Each performance was a graceful blend of rhythm, expression, and artistry, reflecting not only the students’ talent but also their dedication and rigorous training.

Two of our students, Ganesh G and Nirmal Siva Krishna from Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta, successfully participated in the SEED REPORTER Training Programme and were awarded Training Participation Certificates in recognition of their involvement.

Our school celebrated the traditional Kerala practice of enjoying medicinal foods during Karkkidakam. Primary class students brought home-cooked healthy dishes and shared recipes with peers. They savoured the food under the trees, making it a memorable experience.

The Art Fest 2025–26 was a vibrant celebration of colours and creativity. August 1 resonated with melodies during the Music Fest, while August 2 sparkled with energy at the Dance Fest. This year, the presence of many young dancers added extra charm to the celebrations. The fest concluded on a highly successful note.

The Investitutre Ceremony was conducted in Amrita Vidyalayam on 13th August 2025, where the new student council members took oath for the ceremony. The students of 4 different houses elected their Captains, Vice Captains and Junior Vice Captains. The students pledged to work for the betterment of the school in the academic session.

In order to create awareness about the day, a speech was conducted in the assembly by Sreenanda V M of class XI Science. The speech conveyed the message of the after effects of drug addiction on the individual, their family and society. The way she presented it was also very effective.

A house-wise Tableau competition on the theme Quit India Movement was conducted to Commemorate and educate the children about the Quit India Movement, a pivotal event in India's struggle for independence. Tableaux serve as visual representations, often depicting key moments, figures, and themes of the movement, allowing for a deeper understanding of its significance and impact on India's freedom.
A conversation was conducted by the students of class VIII. In this conversation, the students discuss the significance of National Handloom Day, highlighting its importance in promoting traditional crafts, supporting local artisans, and preserving cultural heritage. They also emphasize the eco-friendly and sustainable nature of handloom products and encourage each other to spread awareness and support the handloom industry.
