As part of the observance of Ramayana Day, the school organized a series of meaningful activities to promote moral values and acquaint students with the timeless teachings of the Ramayana.
The programme featured the devotional recitation of selected verses from the Ramayana by students, followed by presentations depicting significant episodes and characters from the epic. Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta, organized a Karkkidaka Food Fest on 31 July 2026 as part of the observance of the holy month of Karkkidakam. The programme was jointly organized by the Language and Science Departments with the objective of creating awareness among students about Kerala's traditional food culture, nutritious seasonal recipes, and the medicinal value of commonly used plants.
Students from Classes V to IX enthusiastically participated in the Food Fest by presenting a wide variety of traditional dishes, including Karkkidaka Kanji, Njavara rice kanji, payasam, dry ginger coffee and a range of herbal snacks. The dishes were prepared under the guidance of parents and teachers, highlighting the significance of healthy eating habits and seasonal dietary practices that promote immunity and overall well-being.
A Medicinal Plant Exhibition was also organized with active participation from students. The exhibition featured medicinal plants such as tulsi, neem, aloe vera, curry leaves, ginger, and turmeric etc... Each plant was displayed with informative labels describing its medicinal properties and traditional uses. Teachers guided students through the exhibition, emphasizing the importance of conserving these valuable plants and encouraging their cultivation at home.
The programme was both informative and engaging, providing students with valuable insights into Kerala's rich traditional food heritage and the healing properties of medicinal plants. It inspired them to appreciate indigenous health practices and adopt healthy lifestyle habits rooted in tradition.

Onam is the National Festival of Kerala and the most auspicious festival of Malayalis all over the world. It commemorates the annual homecoming of our beloved King Mahabali, whose golden reign was known for equality, prosperity and goodness. To uphold our rich cultural heritage and to instill the values of unity, harmony and brotherhood among students, Onam was celebrated with great festive fervour and joy in our school campus.
The celebration started with an auspicious Onam Sandesam by Jyothisree Teacher. In her inspiring speech, she explained the significance of Onam, the story of Mahabali, and the importance of preserving our traditions.
The Grand Entry of Mahabali: Immediately after the Onam Sandesam, the whole atmosphere became vibrant with the royal entry of King Mahabali. Dressed in traditional royal attire, with a golden crown and a cheerful smile, Maveli Thampuran entered the auditorium blessing all children. The students welcomed him with great excitement, shouting "Maveli Vazhthunnu" and the sound of Chenda Melam. His graceful presence made the celebration truly divine and brought the legend of Onam alive on stage.
Following the grand entry, various colourful cultural programmes were organized:
1. Onappattu: A melodious group song by students, which filled the atmosphere with the spirit of Onam.
2. Vanchipattu: An energetic performance that recreated the thrill and rhythm of the Aranmula Vallamkali.
3. Kaikottikali: A graceful Thiruvathira performed by girl students in traditional Kerala settu-mundu. It was the main attraction of the day.
4. Dance Performances: Vibrant and colourful dance performances by students of various classes added great energy to the stage.
5. Uriyadi: The traditional fun game of Uriyadi was conducted, which created great excitement and laughter among all.
The grand finale of the celebration was Vadam Vali (Tug of War) between the House children. All four houses participated with great strength and team spirit. The whole school cheered for their houses and it was a thrilling experience.
The Onam celebration was a grand success. It was not just a festival, but a beautiful experience that brought all students and teachers together as one family. The programmes helped students to understand our culture and tradition more deeply. The day ended with the true message of Onam – "Maveli Nadu Vaneedum Kalam, Manusharellarum Onnu Pole" – when Maveli ruled, all people were equal. Sweets and payasam were distributed to all by Mahabali himself.
The celebration left a memorable and joyful impression in the hearts of everyone.

Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta celebrated India’s 80th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. The celebration aimed to instil the values of freedom, unity and national pride among the students.
The programme commenced with the hoisting of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem. The school campus was beautifully decorated with the tricolour, creating a vibrant atmosphere of patriotism.
The flag was hoisted by the beloved Principal, who was joined by the entire school community in paying homage to the National Flag. The ceremony was accompanied by the rendition of “Vande Mataram”, adding to the patriotic spirit of the occasion.
A house-wise tableau competition based on the theme “Quit India” was organised, providing students with an opportunity to creatively portray significant moments from India’s freedom struggle. Students of Classes VII, VIII and IX presented a patriotic song, filling the campus with a spirit of national pride.
The celebration also featured an inspiring speech by Sreebala of Class III, who spoke about the significance of Independence Day and the values associated with freedom.

On the occasion of Chingam 1 (Karshaka Dinam), marking the commencement of the Malayalam New Year and Kerala’s traditional Farmer’s Day, Nirmal Sivakrishna, a 9th-grade student at Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta, was conferred the Best Child Farmer award.
The recognition was presented as part of a joint initiative organized by the Pathanamthitta Municipality and the Krishi Bhavan to honor local contributions to agriculture and promote eco-friendly farming practices within the region.
Nirmal was selected for his exceptional dedication to homestead organic cultivation, hands-on farming techniques, and active role in advocating agricultural awareness among school students. Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta, celebrated Rainbow Day on 13 August 2026 with great joy and enthusiasm. The campus was beautifully decorated with colourful ribbons and vibrant displays, creating a cheerful and festive atmosphere.
The celebration began with a variety of cultural programmes. The children participated confidently in dance performances, speeches, group songs, and other colourful activities, showcasing their talents and creativity.
A special Rainbow-themed bulletin board was decorated with colourful artwork and creative displays prepared by the children. The students also brought colourful objects representing the different colours of the rainbow and proudly displayed them.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the Rainbow Walk, during which the children walked through the school corridor carrying their colourful objects. The activity spread happiness and added vibrancy to the entire campus.

On the occasion of Chingam 1 (Karshaka Dinam), marking the commencement of the Malayalam New Year and Kerala’s traditional Farmer’s Day, Nirmal Sivakrishna, a 9th-grade student at Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta, was conferred the Best Child Farmer award.
The recognition was presented as part of a joint initiative organized by the Pathanamthitta Municipality and the Krishi Bhavan to honor local contributions to agriculture and promote eco-friendly farming practices within the region.
Nirmal was selected for his exceptional dedication to homestead organic cultivation, hands-on farming techniques, and active role in advocating agricultural awareness among school students. Local municipality officials and representatives from the agricultural department commended the young student's commitment, highlighting the importance of youth involvement in sustaining regional food security and environmental conservation.

Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta, celebrated Rainbow Day on 13 August 2026 with great joy and enthusiasm. The campus was beautifully decorated with colourful ribbons and vibrant displays, creating a cheerful and festive atmosphere.
The celebration began with a variety of cultural programmes. The children participated confidently in dance performances, speeches, group songs, and other colourful activities, showcasing their talents and creativity.
A special Rainbow-themed bulletin board was decorated with colourful artwork and creative displays prepared by the children. The students also brought colourful objects representing the different colours of the rainbow and proudly displayed them.
One of the highlights of the celebration was the Rainbow Walk, during which the children walked through the school corridor carrying their colourful objects. The activity spread happiness and added vibrancy to the entire campus.
The Rainbow Day celebration was a joyful and memorable experience for the children. It helped them learn about colours while fostering creativity, confidence, teamwork, and enthusiastic participation.

As part of the Chingam 1 Farmers' Day celebrations, our school organized a vibrant Agricultural Fair (Kaarshika Mela) to honor the hard work of farmers and raise awareness about traditional agriculture among students.
The highlight of the day was an impressive exhibition of various agricultural products. Students actively participated by bringing a rich variety of fresh vegetables, leafy greens, tubers, and traditional crop yields from home. The classrooms and display counters transformed into colorful showcases of organic produce, reflecting the agrarian culture of Kerala.
The event successfully inspired young minds to appreciate farming, understand the effort behind food production, and adopt sustainable living practices. It was a memorable day that brought the school community closer to nature.

As part of the observance of Ramayana Day, the school organized a series of meaningful activities to promote moral values and acquaint students with the timeless teachings of the Ramayana.
The programme featured the devotional recitation of selected verses from the Ramayana by students, followed by presentations depicting significant episodes and characters from the epic. These activities provided students with a deeper understanding of the ideals exemplified by Lord Rama and the enduring relevance of the Ramayana in fostering righteous living.
A Fancy Dress Competition was also conducted, in which students portrayed prominent characters such as Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshmana, Hanuman, and Shabari with great enthusiasm and confidence. The event encouraged creativity, enhanced presentation skills, and strengthened students' self-confidence.
The celebration served as a valuable platform for nurturing cultural awareness, moral values, and an appreciation of India's rich spiritual heritage. It was a meaningful and enriching experience for all the participants.

Amrita Vidyalayam, Pathanamthitta, organized a Karkkidaka Food Fest on 31 July 2026 as part of the observance of the holy month of Karkkidakam. The programme was jointly organized by the Language and Science Departments with the objective of creating awareness among students about Kerala's traditional food culture, nutritious seasonal recipes, and the medicinal value of commonly used plants.
Students from Classes V to IX enthusiastically participated in the Food Fest by presenting a wide variety of traditional dishes, including Karkkidaka Kanji, Njavara rice kanji, payasam, dry ginger coffee and a range of herbal snacks. The dishes were prepared under the guidance of parents and teachers, highlighting the significance of healthy eating habits and seasonal dietary practices that promote immunity and overall well-being.
A Medicinal Plant Exhibition was also organized with active participation from students. The exhibition featured medicinal plants such as tulsi, neem, aloe vera, curry leaves, ginger, and turmeric etc... Each plant was displayed with informative labels describing its medicinal properties and traditional uses. Teachers guided students through the exhibition, emphasizing the importance of conserving these valuable plants and encouraging their cultivation at home.
The programme was both informative and engaging, providing students with valuable insights into Kerala's rich traditional food heritage and the healing properties of medicinal plants. It inspired them to appreciate indigenous health practices and adopt healthy lifestyle habits rooted in tradition.
