Amrita Fest – Swaralaya 2026 was successfully conducted on 30th July and 1st August 2026, offering a vibrant platform for students to showcase their artistic and literary talents. The two-day event reflected the institution’s commitment to nurturing confidence, teamwork, cultural appreciation, and holistic personality development.

The fest was inaugurated by the Principal ,Ms. Meena Kasthuri    along with  Vice Principal, Mrs. Mridula N Nair,the elected Arts Captain, and the student leaders of the school, setting the tone for an inspiring celebration.

Competitions were held simultaneously across four stages, featuring a diverse range of events including music, dance, recitation, reading, essay writing, versification, declamation, and other literary competitions.

Students actively participated and learned about  indigenous herbs, monsoon diet and the spiritual significance of the month.   As part of the fest,they conducted a medicinal plant exhibition. Students brought and displayed medicinal porridge (Karkkidaka Kanji), the various ingredients used in its preparation, and a variety of traditional medicinal sweet delicacies.

The Guru Purnima celebration was observed with devotion. The programme commenced with Archana, creating a spiritual atmosphere, followed by soulful bhajans offered in praise of the Guru. Students participated wholeheartedly and expressed their gratitude by offering flowers at the holy feet of Amma, the teachers were honoured for their invaluable guidance and dedication in shaping the lives of their students.
The programme concluded with the distribution of prasad, which was lovingly served to all the students.

Teachers’ Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy at Amrita Vidyalayam, Perumbavoor, on 5th September 2026 to honour and appreciate the dedicated teachers who play a vital role in shaping the lives of students.
The celebration began with a prayer, followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. The Principal and Vice Principal addressed the gathering and conveyed their warm Teachers’ Day wishes and inspiring messages to the teachers and students.
A variety of entertaining programmes were organised by the students, including melodious songs, graceful dance performances and exciting games. The students’ enthusiastic participation added colour and joy to the celebration.
As a special gesture of respect and gratitude, the students honoured the teachers by performing Aarati and applying chandan on their foreheads. The students also expressed their affection by distributing fruit salad to all the teachers.
The celebration concluded with a delightful cake-cutting ceremony, with the Principal and students joining together in the celebration. The programme created a warm and memorable atmosphere, reflecting the love, respect and gratitude of the students towards their teachers.

The Sri Krishna Jayanti Celebration was conducted with great devotion, joy and enthusiasm on 2 September 2026 for the students of Kindergarten to Class II. The celebration provided the young learners with an opportunity to learn about the life, teachings and divine childhood of Lord Sri Krishna.

The programme commenced with a prayer, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, invoking divine blessings for the occasion. A narration on the story and significance of Sri Krishna Jayanti was then presented in a simple and engaging manner, helping the children understand the importance of the festival.

Adding colour and charm to the celebration, some students came dressed as Sri Krishna and Radha, while the other students wore traditional attire. The little ones participated enthusiastically in devotional songs and colourful dance performances, creating a festive atmosphere.

The celebration concluded with a beautiful procession, in which the children participated with great excitement. As a traditional part of the celebration, pal payasam was distributed to all the students.

The World Sanskrit Day celebration, which was originally scheduled to be conducted on 28 August 2026, Friday, was held in our school today with great enthusiasm and participation from the students of Classes V to VIII.

The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the richness, relevance and importance of the Sanskrit language and its valuable contribution to Indian culture and heritage. A seminar was conducted by a prominent personality, who spoke on the significance of Sanskrit, its historical importance, and its continued relevance in the modern world. The informative session helped the students understand the beauty and uniqueness of Sanskrit and encouraged them to develop greater interest in the language.

Various programmes were organised as part of the celebration. Students enthusiastically participated in Sanskrit recitation, Geetha chanting and speeches. Their confident performances reflected their knowledge and appreciation of the language. Students also wrote and displayed meaningful quotes on Sanskrit Diwas, adding colour and creativity to the celebration.

The programme provided the students with an enriching opportunity to learn about Sanskrit beyond the classroom. It helped foster respect for the language and encouraged students to appreciate India’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage.

Exercise Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 1 September 2026 at the school. The programme was organised by the Physical Education Department with the aim of promoting physical fitness, discipline and healthy habits among the students .
The celebration began after the morning assembly. All participating students wore their P.E. uniforms and actively took part in the exercise session. Under the guidance of the Physical Education Department, the students practised two free-hand exercises, repeating each exercise several times.
The students participated with energy and enthusiasm, following the instructions of the teachers and maintaining proper discipline throughout the session. The activity helped promote flexibility, stamina, coordination and overall physical fitness while highlighting the importance of regular exercise for a healthy and active lifestyle.
The Exercise Day celebration was successfully conducted, leaving the students motivated to make physical activity a regular part of their daily routine.

The Independence Day celebration was conducted with great patriotic spirit and enthusiasm. The programme provided students with an opportunity to express their love for the nation and understand the significance of freedom, unity and national pride.

Flag Hoisting: The National Flag was hoisted by the Principal, marking the beginning of the Independence Day celebrations. The ceremony was followed by the National Anthem and a strong sense of patriotic pride.

Patriotic Song Competition: Students participated enthusiastically in the competition, filling the atmosphere with inspiring melodies expressing love for the nation.

Fancy Dress: Students dressed up as prominent national leaders and patriotic personalities, presenting a colourful tribute to India’s history and heritage.

Patriotic Speech: Students delivered inspiring speeches highlighting the significance of Independence Day, the sacrifices of freedom fighters and the responsibilities of citizens.

Declamation: Students presented powerful declamations on patriotic themes, demonstrating confidence, expression and effective public speaking skills.

Patriotic Dance: A vibrant dance performance celebrated the spirit of India, showcasing the students’ talent and conveying a message of unity and national pride.

Quiz Competition: A quiz competition based on India’s freedom struggle, national symbols, history and important personalities was conducted. Students participated with great interest and enthusiasm.

“Tiranga – Our Pride” – One-Minute Programme: Students presented a special one-minute programme celebrating the Tricolour and its significance as a symbol of India’s unity, courage and pride.

“India on the Map” – KG Special Presentation: The KG students traced the outline of the map of India and performed simple coordinated steps within it, creating a delightful and patriotic presentation.

They highlighted the historical significance of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, its impact on humanity, and the need for global peace.
